Honoring outstanding achievers, persons involved in social service

The Committee has decided to honoring the outstanding achievers and been involved the social service inside/outside of the university. The Committee has unveiled selected 4 awardees namely,

1.      NSS - Dr. A. Lakshmi Prabha, Professor, Department of Botany, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli organised camps of 7 days duration are organised in adopted villages or urban slums during vacations with some specific projects by involving local communities. 50% NSS volunteers, i.e. 50 NSS Volunteers per NSS Unit, are involved in these camps and supported to university in various level

2.      YRC: Dr. K. Vetrivel, Zonal Co-coordinator YRC, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Bharathidasan University has worked in Organize Disaster Service camps during natural or man-made disasters like flood, drought, earthquake, cyclone, tsunami, fire accident, ethnic violence etc. at the site and made to visit Anganvadi, Orphanage, Schools for the blind, institution of the physically handicapped with gifts

3.      Physical Education - Dr. R. Kalidasan,Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education & Yoga, Bharathidasan University is Honoured the outstanding sports personnel’s, those who brought laurels to the University in the All India Inter-University tournaments by cash award since 2000-2001. In year 2009-2010 onwards, the Prize money was also introduced for outstanding sports personals, those who brought laurels to the University in the South-West Zone and South Zone Inter-University tournaments

4.      NCC- Dr. Kasinathan , Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Technology, Bharathidasan University
